  • 1 lb ground beef Look for about 80% lean meat for juicy sliders.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Sharp cheddar or pepper jack works well.
  • 1/2 cup diced onion Sweet onion or red onion for color.
  • 1/4 cup ketchup Can be swapped for BBQ sauce for a smoky flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon mustard Dijon or yellow mustard is great.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Add garlic or onion powder for extra flavor.
  • Slider buns Choose soft buns like Hawaiian rolls.
  • Pickles (optional) Chopped dill pickles add crunch.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, shredded cheddar cheese, diced onion, ketchup, mustard, and salt and pepper. Mix gently to avoid overmixing.
  • Press the mixture evenly into a greased baking dish.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through and the top is browned.
  • Once out of the oven, let cool briefly before cutting into slider-sized squares.
  • Serve on slider buns with optional pickles.

Notes

Consider a build-your-own-slider station with various toppings. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for 3 days or frozen for up to a month.
